COVID-19 UPDATE AND CHANGE

Earlier this week, Governor Mills issued a new executive order stating that vehicles requiring to be registered in Maine with expiring or expired registration must be registered within 30 days of the order, but only if the owner resides in a municipality that participates in the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicle Rapid Renewal Program. This order was issued on May 12, 2020; the registration renewal deadline is 30 days from that date.

As the Town of Bradley, participates's in the Rapid Renewal Program and is also offering registration services by appointment at the Bradley Municipal Building, vehicle registrations must be completed within 30 days of the new order.

For the purpose of the new executive order "vehicle" includes without limitations a motor vehicle, all-terrain vehicle, watercraft, snowmobile, and trailer, and "registration includes temporary registrations.

Please contact the Municipal Office at 207-827-7725 to schedule an appointment to complete your registration.

Best practices such as bagging waste and keeping recyclables loose, putting all material in carts and bins, and maintaining social distance from the workers. Other helpful hints:

Put all bags and recyclables into bins

Keep lids on cart to avoid littering

Wipe down your bins, especially the handles and lids, once you have placed them at the curb

Put bins out on time and retrieve them quickly

As we have reported the Town of Bradley Municipal Building is closed to the public until it is advisable to reopen public facilities. This preventative measure has been taken in light of the need to practice social distancing in order to lessen the community spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the declared state of emergency, meetings of municipal boards and committees may be conducted remotely by telephone, video or the Internet. The method must be adequate to allow members to hear and speak to one another and must allow the public to hear what is said.

The Bradley Town Council will be conducting the March 31, 2020 meeting via Zoom and Facebook live. Please like us on Facebook and join us for our first-ever virtual meeting. Please also be patient with us, because this is our first-ever virtual meeting.

Stay healthy and stay safe.

We would like to thank the residents of Bradley for their continued understanding regarding the Municipal Building Closure. We are still closed to the public and will be until it is advisable to reopen public facilities. The staff has been diligently working to provide services via the phone, email and online. Manager Doane has made several appointments with residents and provided face to face transactions (at a distance). We hope more than anything that you are all well and are taking the needed precautions to keep you and your family protected.

Maine State Legislature enacted several pieces of legislation providing the state and local governments with the authority necessary to address COVID-19. One of these laws that have direct importance to many residents is extending until 30 days after the end of the public health emergency, registrations for motor vehicles, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), watercraft and dogs issued by the municipality.

Many of you will be receiving the Spring Clean Up Flyer (scheduled for May 2). We have not yet received the identification stickers. It is possible for residents to send a check in the amount of $15.00 to the Town of Bradley PO Box 517 Bradley Me 04411, please note your physical address. You may also call the office at 827-7725 and use your debit or credit card. Once the stickers come in we will mail them to you.

Stay well, stay connected and stay healthy!
